Empathy. Customer service professionals must at all times put themselves in the shoes of the customer and understand their needs – how else can you problem solve for your customer effectively?
Positivity. A positive attitude goes a long way in customer service, and it’s important to consider the specific words you use to promote a positive and forward thinking approach to solving any queries.
Patience. Sometimes a query may seem unnecessary and the answer obvious; but at all times customer service professionals must be calm and patient. Even if the customer is angry, patience is the key to solving any complaint.
Clarity. Customer service professionals must ensure they communicate with perfect clarity, and if they don’t know the answer to a query, they should be honest and find the answer, rather than making it up as they go along! Anything less than 100% clarity will confuse the situation later down the line.
Constant improvement. In customer services, professionals come across new situations and issues all the time – good customer service professionals continuously learn and improve how they support their customers.
