ETHICAL MARKETING: IS YOUR STRATEGY TRULY ETHICAL?

In the fast-paced environment marketers often find themselves in, ethics can be an area that gets thought about at the last minute. But ethical marketing is hugely important for building a successful brand – so how can you ensure your that your marketing strategy is ethical?

Start by maximising your impact and minimising harm. At the centre of everything you do, your work should focus on creating as little harm or cost as possible whilst reaching as many people as you can.

Be honest. All the time! Any new products or services, make sure your customers are filly aware of the terms and conditions, how products should work and how to use products and services safely.

Respond to customers. Maybe an obvious point but not something all companies take into account – if customers raise a concern with your service or products make it your top priority to investigate and protect consumer rights.

Don’t forget the data! Make sure your company understands UK GDPR law and takes protecting data very seriously. If mistakes are made, own up and set things right.

Consumers want to know the companies they buy from are ethical. Make sure your products and supply chain are ethical and sustainable.
