Internal communications have in recent years definitely become more valued by lots of businesses, but there are still many that are behind on investing in a well-resourced, impactful internal communications strategy. So why are internal communications important?
Keep everyone informed. Depending on the size of an organisation, keeping employees informed of changes or updates can be challenging. By having an established internal channel for communication there’s a direct route to keeping everyone in the know.
Get people engaged. We spend a lot of our waking time at work – a sound internal communications strategy builds engagement and a sense of belonging within teams which is hugely important for both motivation and productivity.
It’s a great channel for feedback. Company culture is incredibly important – and a fully integrated internal comms strategy should provide employees the opportunity to debate, discuss and provide feedback to leadership. A two way conversation is incredibly important for employees to feel listened to.
Why do you think internal communications is important?
