LinkedIn is a necessity for most sectors, and now’s the time to make sure your profile makes the right impression. With more hiring managers and recruiters using LinkedIn than ever before, here’s a few tips to make sure your profile hits the mark.
Say cheese! A profile picture on your LinkedIn account is a must. Make sure it is a professional, clear image. Having a picture on your LinkedIn profile encourages more people to connect with you, and gives hiring managers the opportunity to put a face to a name.
What are your keywords? LinkedIn has a search tool, much like Facebook, so make sure your profile has plenty of key words in it, linked to your sector knowledge and profession.
Get in contact! If you’re actively looking for a new job, make sure your profile has your full contact details available, namely your email address and telephone / mobile phone number if possible. That way, hiring managers and recruiters can get in touch straight away!
Leave no stone unturned. Make sure each section of your profile is complete, and ensure that your job history dates match those on your CV! A fully completed profile will encourage more people to connect.
