Since March many of us have had to get used to working from home – and as we go into winter, it looks like home working is here to stay (minus the lovely sunshine we had earlier this year!). If you’re facing the next few months at home, it’s important that you take care of your mental health and wellbeing – here’s our top tips.
Stick to a routine. It’s easy to let your normal routine slide with all that extra time saved by not commuting, but a lack of routine can also be damaging. Try to stick to the same working hours each day, switch off from work as you normally would do of an evening, and find a place at home you can work in comfortably each day.
Don’t forget to take breaks! Do you normally make a cuppa around 10am in the office? Stick to it at home too! A decent lunch break is also vital for maintaining your mental health. Choose healthy meals and snacks to enjoy throughout the day.
Be sociable! Sounds hard when you’re working alone all day, but make sure you continue to communicate regularly with teammates. Set up a book club, or a virtual social session, so everyone can stay in touch.
