Twitter continues to grow from strength to strength and has been at the centre of some of the best – including those “so bad they’re good” – PR moments of recent years. Are you making the most of your Twitter handle? Take a look at our top tips.

Think about your content. A content calendar for Twitter can be useful, helping you to effectively plan your content, including type of content and post frequency. Video is just as effective on Twitter as it is on Facebook too! Another top tip includes repurposing or retweeting old content if it’s still relevant to your audience.

Make it personal. Twitter users want personal interaction with brands, and many brands are already adding the personal touch to their Twitter communications. Humour cannot be underestimated on Twitter too – The best campaigns are the ones where a brand shows humour and more importantly a personality.

Use Twitter lists. Twitter advertising allows you to create specific Twitter lists, using the handles of your key targets, to promote your content too. This can be a very effective way of targeting key people and influencers within your audience.
