ARE MARKETERS INVESTING IN NEW TECHNOLOGY AS MUCH AS THEY SHOULD BE?

The last few years have brought us new digital channels and innovative technologies when it comes to marketing and communications. But just how much of these pioneering new mediums are a go to tool for today’s marketers?

It appears that whilst most marketers are fully aware of the new technologies available to them, they’re unwilling to invest their time and budgets into making them a part of their communications strategy.

Most recently, new technologies such as 360 degree videos, virtual reality, chatbots and many more have become more freely available to marketers. However, many marketers just aren’t ready to invest in them. The reason? Although these new technologies are impressive and fun for customers, the ROI isn’t clear at all.

In 2017, rather than investing in new technology, it seems that the trend for marketers is to invest more in data analysis and customer experience tools, before choosing niche and quirky communications channels.
